Shall we celebrate or mourn?

Today marks the 14th anniversary of Mujahedin’s taking over power in Afghanistan.

The Afghan people feel ambivalent about whether to celebrate today for the victory of mujahedin over the communist-backed regime one and a half ago, or lament over colossal material and human loss they inflicted afterwards.

Afghan Mujahedin after 15 years of struggle succeeded to end the Soviet-backed regime and enter Kabul in 1992. Subsequent domestic violence and factional fighting, however, marred their triumph.

President Karzai speaking at a ceremonial gathering in Kabul today urged the opposition to lay down arms and join the peace process.

He ascribed the mounting insurgency and violence to backstage conspiracies of “foreign circles” and called on Afghans not to be "deceived by their intrigues". He however did not mention any specific country.

Hmm I suppose a national lament would be useful..since it did not mark an end of the problems but the arrival of the war to Kabul in a real sense.

Yeah Zak, absolutely true. It was the beginning of devastating factional fighting that left the whole country in ruins, made two million people migrate, and eventually led to the arrival of the Taleban. Both revolutions of 7 Sawr (1978) and 8 Sawr of (1992) should be marked "black days" in Afghan calendar.

Dear Ahmad !
Rosemary says : " Berluscuni is a good man" .

Berluscuni says ; "Mussolini never killed anyone...he used to send people on vacation in eternal exile"

Berluscuni says : " I am the jesus Christ of politics .

beluscuni says : "Those judges are doubly mad ! inte first place , because they are politically mad . and in the secind place , because they are mad any way"
And Berluscuni is a supporter of Neo-fascist party in Italy and recive support from them .

Bush-Cheney recieve support of Berluscuni and fascists in Italy .

So I dont understand if a healthy mind dare saying that " berluscuni is a good man" . If one says this , so the conclusion is that he/she is not healthy in mind . Or he /she is fascist ! (Concealed fascist but for me a manifest fascist like Bush-Cheney)

Dear Aram,

There are certain clear and undeniable facts in world history.
One is atrocities comitted by Benito Mussolini, who led Italy until 1943 and is believed to be the founder of facisim through the implementation of state terror. I would compare him to Adolf Hitler for his despotic actions.

BTW, I didn't mean to oppose your ideas. What i meant was to debate the issues in a peaceful and constructive way so as get others on your side and prove the realities, rather than to show hostility.

If Rosemary believes, I don't know if she does, that Berlusconi and mussolini, are both good people, let her have her opinion. Maybe that is what she belives in, but with strong arguments you can defintely change her opinion, i assume.
